Here’s a project I did quite a long time ago (~5 years ish) with a friend. We slapped a turbocharger on his 1996 F-250 with a 7.5L V8 (460) v8. It’s a remote turbo located just aft of the cab. It was quite a project, with lots of welding and piping running all over the place.

Breakdown of what we did and parts we used:

MassAir EFI conversion w/computer from a California F-150 - Moates QuarterHorse tuner - remote turbo from a 7.3L PowerStroke - Siemens 80 lb/hr injectors - intercooled - cheapo wastegate - Ford Lightning MAF - OEM porsche/saab blow off valve - TransGo E4OD shiftkit. It ran approximately 7 PSI in these videos.

My buddy later took the truck with him to New Mexico, so I haven’t seen it in quite a few years, but it’s now running a lot better than it did here in these videos. He re-did all the plumbing, installed high volume fuel pump modules, upgraded to a PMAS HPX slot-MAF, turned the boost up to 12 PSI and had it dyno-tuned. Last I heard it’d melt the 33" tires right off through 1st and 2nd.

This is beautiful, just the right amount of work to separate it from the pretentious bro trucks.

I’m personally not a fan of the stacks, but the rest of the truck is pretty much bro-free, thankfully. Just looks like a clean OBS Ford f-250.

That’s really cool. Good job. I love how it looks like it should be rolling coal, yet is so much better.
